MYANMAR Engineering Society (MES) will host the Process and Products Show 2010 from January 15 to 18 at the association headquarters in Hlaing Campus.

The four-day exhibition will showcase more than 100 engineering products, and will coincide with the association’s annual meeting on January 16-17.

“Many engineers and technicians from different fields will attend the annual meeting, and that will be a good opportunity for the exhibiting companies to promote their products,” said one of the exhibition committee members, engineer U Nyi Nyi Htike.

“We aim to promote the technology that we use to produce our engineering products too,” he said.

This is the third show of its kind, following earlier exhibitions in December 2007 and January 2009. The organisers hope to increase the number both of exhibitors and shops. “Last year’s exhibition ran with only 30 companies and 53 shops, but this year we hope to exhibit more than 100 engineering companies and 60 shops,” he added.

The booths and products will be on display at MES headquarters compound, ground and first floor. Exhibitors are charged K300,000 for 30 square metres or 100 square feet of floor space for the four-day event. Several products, such as transformers, air-conditioners, voltage regulators, security devices, solar plates and items related to road concrete, will be demonstrated at the exhibition. Interested exhibitors can enrol at the Young Engineer Committee under MES, phone number 519 673-76 during office hours.
