Myanmar Infotech set to construct new building at compound

THE Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) and a number of associated organisations are planning to build a new office block in Hlaing township, according to U Khun Oo, president of the Myanmar Computer Professionals Association (MCPA).
The block will be built in the Myanmar Info-Tech compound according to an early draft of the building proposal, which is still being developed, he said.
The federation expects to spend about K6 billion on the building, which is likely to have four storeys. The MCF and the Myanmar Computer Industry Association (MCIA) will take one floor each, leaving two floors free for rent, MCIA President Daw Wah Wah Htun said.
U Khun Oo said the building’s expected cost, design and exact location were still under discussion.
However, the federation was expected to begin work on the project by year’s end, with funds to be collected by the Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Myint Swe, and the Minister of Communications Posts and Telegraphs, Brigadier General Thein Zaw.
