MPT to add 100,000 extra CDMA lines

MYANMAR Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) will release a total of 250,000 CDMA 800MHz lines in September, an MPT official said last week.
“We first planned to release a total of 150,000 CDMA 800MHz for Yangon and Mandalay but we decided to increase than by 100,000 more lines because we thought there would be demand,” the official said.
“Another reason is that CDMA lines are easier to install in many places than landlines,” he said.
