PM to lead USDP to the polls

Piano recitals
Young Israeli pianist Victor Goldberg is stopping off in Myanmar as part of his Asia tour. He will give two recitals, one at Inya Lake Hotel on August 1 at 6:30pm and the second at Mandalay Hill Resort on August 4 at 7pm. Admission is free. Mr Goldberg will also visit China, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
Japanese film screening
The Japanese embassy will screen The Glass Rabbit in the embassy’s Assembly Hall on July 29 and 30 at 2:30pm. The film is directed by Shibuichi Setsuko. Tickets are available until the day of the screening (between 9am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 5:30pm) at the embassy.
‘Prince of Persia’ screening
Prince of Persia is currently screening at Nay Pyi Daw cinema from July 23. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley and Gemma Arterton.
‘Cherry Plain’ art show
An art exhibition entitled “Cherry Plain” by 11 artists from Nyaung Shwe in Shan State will be held from July 29 to August 3 at the Myanmar Traditional Artists and Artisans Organisation, Bogyoke Aung San market. About 55 artworks depicting panoramic views of Shan State will be on display.
Thunder Night concert
Myanmar Archery Federation will hold a fundraising concert on July 31 at Thuwunna Sports Stadium from 6pm. Zaw Win Htut, R Zar Ni, Alex, Htun Eaindra Bo, Chan Chan and Aethin Cho Swe will perform. Emperor and Hero will also perform. Tickets are between K5000 and K15,000 available at Lu Kyi Min, branches of Ko Ko Nyi Nyi Beauty Saloon and Man Thiri. MRTV4 will also broadcast the concert every evening from August 1 to August 10 at 7:30pm.
