Govt takes measures to keep Myawady clean
THROWING rubbish will soon be illegal on all roads in Myawady township, Bi Weekly Eleven reported on July 23.
The report said Bogyoke Road and Bayintnaung Road have already been declared rubbish-free zones and other roads are set to follow soon.
“We want the township to be neat and tidy. Rubbish and plastic can block the flow of water. Everybody has a moral obligation to respect the restricted area. Our township is a border township so we face a discipline problem. Although we order not to throw the rubbish, we have never fined or disciplined people. We need discipline,” implored an official from Myawady.

Twenty villages in Pyapon and 10 villages in Dedaye township are involved in the project.
