THE time has come for the holiday-makers who love to make for
the beaches during their December break – often parents
who take work leave when their children are off school –
to think about their plans because many beach resorts have announced
their holiday packages.
With the Christmas and New Year season rapidly approaching,
a number of beach resorts are offering package deals for both
locals and foreigners.
Daw Ei Thet Htar, senior sales and marketing manager of the
Bay of Bengal Resort at Ngwe Saung beach, said they have special
promotion packages for the “pre-winter” season.
“The three-day and two-night package, offered from November
1 to December 23, includes accommodation, meals and exclusive
transportation arranged upon request from the clients,”
she said.
She said in the special promotion there are different room rates
for locals and for foreigners. A single superior room for a local
person is US$45, a deluxe $55, a Bengal suite $75 and a royal
Bengal villa $90, whereas the superior for foreigners is $70,
a deluxe $80, a Bengal Suite $100 and $120 for a royal Bengal
villa.
“The rates are inclusive of breakfast, the ten per cent
government tax and the 10 pc service charge. The bill can also
be settled in Myanmar currency”, Daw Ei Thet Htar said.
The Bay of Bengal Resort also offers a three-day package for
the Christmas holiday from December 24 to 26, which costs $130
for locals and $180 for foreigners. The two-night package for
New Year, December 30 to January 1 of 2008, costs $140 for locals
and $190 for foreigners.
Each package is for two persons in Superior rooms including
breakfast and evening meals on December 24 and December 31. And
on the condition of a minimum of 10 people, transportation is
arranged on demand for $25 for each local person and $40 per foreigner.
Daw Phyu Phyu Khine, sales and marketing manager of Amazing
Ngapali Resort at Ngapali, said the resort offers a special package
which targets companies for groups of 12 local people as a minimum.
The package, called the ‘Incredible Amazing Reward’
and valid from December 1 to March 31 in 2008, includes accommodation
in a deluxe room with sea view and two-way airport transfer at
Ngapali.
The Amazing Ngapali Resort also has a three-day and two-night
package costing K168,000 per person aimed at local people and
expatriates.
It includes breakfast, round trip Yangon-Thandwe air tickets
and transfers between the airport and the hotel at Ngapali beach.
A supplement of K36,000 is charged for lunches and dinners to
be included.
Daw Khin Nyunt Yi, sales executive of the Belle Resort at Chaung
Tha Beach, said their resort has a special discount rate for newlyweds
and local families during the December holiday.
The resort also offers three-day and two-night packages that
include accommodation, meals and transportation between Yangon
and Chaung Tha Beach.
She said the packages are available at times of high customer
demand.
The package for the honeymooners cost K220,000 per couple for
the superior room and K250,000 per couple for the deluxe.
“The cost is negotiable, especially for the honeymooners,”
she said.
