THE entertainment calendar for December is busy with concerts
and other events for people of all ages.
Here’s a selection of some of the events that are coming
up:
If you like to dance, disco-style, don’t miss the beach
party by the pool at the Dusit Inya Lake Hotel on December 15.
This event is being sponsored by Myanmar Brewery Ltd. Tickets
are K6000.
On December 16, Russian-born French violinist Vadim Tchijik
will be performing at the Dusit Inya Lake Hotel. The concert begins
at 7pm and is being presented by the Alliance Francaise. Admission
is by invitation card which must be collected in advance from
the Alliance Francaise, on Pyay Road.
A Christmas songs competition for children aged between six
and 12 will be held at North Point shopping centre on December
22. Prizes will be presented to the most talented performers.
Hip-hop fans can look forward to a big concert at the Yangon
International Hotel on Christmas Day. It will feature more than
20 hop-hop performers, including Sai Sai Kham Leng and J-me, said
event organiser, Bo San. Tickets are available at FMI, Dagon Centre
and Yankin Centre.
Also on Christmas Day, L Lun Wah, Rebecca Win, Phyo Gyi, and
Yuzana will be performing with The Trees band at Junction 8.
Iron Cross will be among top groups performing at Hmyaw Sin
Island in Kandawgyi Park on December 24, said event organiser
Ko Zaw Moe.
On the same day, Lazy Club will be performing at the Mya Yeik
Nyo Hotel, said the band’s manager, Ko Soe Naing Tun.
New Treasure Art Gallery, off Thanlwin Road, Bahan township,
is hosting an exhibition of paintings created during a trip to
Chin State by U Sein Myo Myint, U Maung Maung Hla Myint and U
Min Wai Aung. The exhibition opens on December 29 for two weeks.
The gallery is open between 9am and 6pm.
