On the front lines in northern Shan State

Clashes between the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army-South and the largely Palaung-speaking Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) have broken out across northern Shan State since early February. Myanmar Times Director of Photography Kaung Htet spent time in Northern Shan State this week, with refugees in Kyaukme townships, and with Tatmadaw and RCSS fighters on the conflict's front lines.
