A SPECIAL trade mission from South Korea will visit Yangon this week in an attempt to enhance trade between the two countries, the local Voice journal reported on May 2.

Quoting South Korean embassy sources, it said the South Korean mission will meet with Myanmar businessmen on May 11.

Business organisations in Myanmar and South Korea agreed last year to increase trade between the two countries and to seek more economic opportunities for South Korean entrepreneurs to become engaged in Myanmar.

The move was boosted by a memorandum of understanding signed between the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and South Korea’s Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
