THE Yangon Division Peace and Development Council (YDPDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Electric Power (2) has started a project to provide electricity to remote villages in Yangon Division using power plants fuelled by rice husks, an official from the ministry said on June 7.
THE Eden Centre for Disabled Children is considering setting up a sheltered workshop at a three-acre site north of Yangon where it began building work earlier this year on a project which will enable it to expand its training services.
 

This year the government is allowing exports of these animals, except those under the weight of 150 grams or those bearing eggs, by a limited number of registered companies that follow strict regulations set by the department.

 

“A pair of adult turtles was loaned to the zoo from a private individual who imported several of the animals into the US in 2001 or 2002,” Mr Dwight Lawson, the vice president for animal programs and science at the zoo, told The Myanmar Times by email last week.
