THE National Convention to draft a new constitution is due to resume this week for its last session in a development coinciding with increased diplomatic efforts by the United Nations to help Myanmar in its democratic transition.

 

The elephants, Moe Thakka, 27, and Khaing Maung Tun, 20, arrived at Colombo on July 12 aboard a Myanmar-owned ship carrying a cargo of timber. The elephants will be used to carry the tooth relic during religious processions, said Daw Than Than Zaw, the secretary to the Sri Lankan ambassador.
