Thingangyun to host five-day festival

By Htar Htar Khin

A MARKET festival jointly organised by the Yangon City Development Committee and Ruby House Exhibition, Advertising and Trading Company will be held at Nga Moe Yeik market in Thingangyun township from August 3 to 7.

The festival will be the fourth such event organised by Ruby House. Previous festivals held at Bogyoke, Mingalar and Insein markets in June and July attracted a total of more than 300 vendors.

“The aim of the market festivals is to promote sales, the interest of customers and demand for goods,” said U Kyaw Si Thu Naing, the manager of Ruby House.

Up to July 24, 68 of the 80 available spaces at the market had been filled. The rental price for a nine foot by eight foot space for the five-day festival is K110,000 to K120,000.

The Nga Moe Yeik festival will be open from 9am to 6pm each day.
Ruby House also plans to hold market festivals in the coming months in Bago in Bago Division, and Thanlyin and Khayan in Yangon Division, as well as in Rakhine State in October.
