Japan assists Kayah schools

THE Japanese government has provided US$66,859 for the construction of primary schools in the villages of Kyundaw and Dawhsasi in Kayah State.

Contracts for the project were signed on July 31 between Mr Masashi Ogawa, the deputy chief of mission and counselor at the Japanese embassy in Yangon, and U Ye, the chairman of the Kyundaw and Dawhsasi Primary Schools Construction Committee.

The project, which will involve building construction and renovation will improve the study environment for 383 students.
