Sri Lankan magazine welcomes Myanmar pen pals

By Juliet Shwe Gaung

A SRI LANKAN children’s magazine is welcoming children from Myanmar to join a free pen pal program.

Jewel of Good Conduct and Knowledge (Guna Nena Mina) is hoping to encourage children from different backgrounds and cultures to engage at an international level.

Parents and guardians are also welcome to join through an adult service.
A profile and photo of every potential pen pal will be published in the magazine for free and then matched up with a suitable contact. The contact will be of similar age to the entrant.

To enter a profile, sent it, along with a passport photo, to Guna Nena Mina, The International Pen Pal column, PO Box 7, Veyangoda, Sri Lanka, or call 033 2287 332.

Guna Nena Mina’s editor U Pali S Dharmabandhu is the retired editor of Sri Lanka’s Daily News and Observer, the two oldest papers in the country.
