Shan Yoma offers visas-on-arrival

By Pan Eiswe Star

SHAN Yoma Travel and Tours has been authorised by the government to arrange visas-on-arrival for clients who live in countries that do not have a Myanmar embassy or foreign mission.

To apply for a visa, clients must email personal data and travel information, as well as a passport-quality photograph of themselves as an attachment, to Shan Yoma (shanyoma@mptmail.net.mm).

The email should include the client’s full name, passport number, passport issue and expiration dates, date and place of birth, gender, father’s name, nationality, race, religion, occupation, home address, arrival and departure dates to/from Myanmar, flight number and airline.

Once Shan Yoma receives the information, it will apply for a visa-on-arrival on the client’s behalf through ministries of Hotels and Tourism, Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, and the Department of Immigration.

The company suggests that clients apply for the visa at least one month before their planned arrival in Myanmar.

Shan Yoma said it would only process visas-on-arrival, which cost US$20 a person, for parties of two or more people who use the company’s services to plan their travel to Myanmar.
