UNICEF trains teachers

Khin Myat

THE United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) provided Children Centered Approach (CCA) training last month to teachers working at monastic schools and convents throughout the country. Such schools often teach children who do not have easy access to formal educations. The training was held at Summit Parkview Hotel in Yangon from August 20 to 31.

“Some of these teachers are working as volunteers and the aim of the training was to polish their skill and instruct them on how to teach children to be interested in the lessons,” said a spokesperson for the training program.
A total of 35 teachers were trained by an international education consultant, he said.
