Rice transport

THE Yangon Division Peace and Development Council has announced that vehicles are only allowed to transport rice and related products from Yangon Division to border areas with permission from the Yangon Price Control Committee under the Yangon City Development Committee.
“If vehicles transport rice and to border areas, they must have a permission letter from YDPDC,” said an official from the council.
“If we find vehicles that have carried rice products without permission, the products will become government property and the vehicle will be impounded for at least a month,” he said.
The new rule went into effect on August 13. – Minh Zaw

Medical software

A LOCAL software development company has donated 100 CDs containing electronic medical record system (MRS) software to individual doctors in Mandalay who run and manage their own clinics.
Daw Ni Ni Myint, the senior general manager of Myanmar Information Technology Pte. Ltd, said at the donation ceremony held on August 10 at Mandalay General Hospital that the software was designed for use by small clinics.
“Seven years ago we donated MRS software to hospitals throughout Myanmar but is was not good for use by individual doctors because it was designed for hospital networks,” she said. “Now we are offering new software for doctors in small clinics.”
The software helps doctors keep records of patient registration, diagnosis and treatment, and also uses international classification of disease (ICD) codes to help doctors consult with medical specialists all over the world on disease classification.
“The software is designed for patient medical records and also for clinic management,” said Daw Ni Ni Myint, adding that the company also plans to donate the software to doctors in Yangon. – Khin Su Wai
