THE Myanmar under-17 football team failed to advance from the group stage of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) U17 Championship in Cambodia after Laos upset defending champions Vietnam 4-2 on August 28, knocking Myanmar out of the competition.

Laos will face Thailand in the final on September 3 after they beat Indonesia 3-0 in their semifinal and the Thais dismissed Vietnam 2-0.

Myanmar earlier beat Group B rivals Laos 2-0 but lost to Vietnam 0-1 and drew 3-3 with Singapore.
