“The National Convention delegates successfully completed drawing fundamental principles and detailed basic principles for the writing of a constitution,” the Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council, Lieutenant General Thein Sein, told the closing session on September 3.

THE United Nations special envoy to Myanmar, Mr Ibrahim Gambari, has unveiled plans to return to the country next month for more talks on the national reconciliation process.

“The birth of twin elephants is a very rare event. Before this, it has only happened to MTE elephants three times since 1981. Only in two cases were we able to keep the twins alive for a long time,” said U Thaung Nyunt, a veterinarian who works for the enterprise.

“Customers want 0.6-litre, round-shaped bottles,” Dr Sai Sam Htun said. “The reason for the delay is that we’ve had to adjust our mould and do some fine-tuning to get details the way we want, such as the shape of the cap, the bottle and the label.”

 

PRICES of batteries in Myanmar are rising in line with soaring international prices for lead although the full impact is not likely to be felt until the dry summer months because of currently good electricity supplies due to full hydropower lakes, battery traders in Yangon said.

 

“We’re getting twice as many sales now as when we started the business because people can get 60-year land grants here for a single-story house with a compound for about K5 million,” said U Thet Moe Khaing, who lives in the township’s 34 Ward.
