YADANAR Shwe Htun Construction is planning to start building two new condominium towers in downtown Yangon before the end of the year, the company revealed on September 6.

The two 10-storey buildings will go up on 49th street in Botahtaung township and on Lanmadaw Street in Latha township and are projected to be ready for tenants in mid 2009, managing director U Lazurus said.

The company aims to start work on the projects in late October once people living in wooden houses at the building sites have moved on.

“Both buildings cover 1500 square feet each and we will announce the sale prices after soil tests and foundation costs are calculated,” U Lazarus said.

The Botahtaung condo will have two hall-style apartments on each floor either side of an elevator, while the Latha building will have three apartments per level serviced by two elevators. The ground floors have 16-foot ceilings, making them suitable for shops.

Neither building will have reserved parking although U Lazarus said there was space for about 10 cars outside each site.
