FROM the outside, this white-washed home with tall pillars and meagre garden is like many on the market, but step inside and the four-bedroom house comes to life through a creative design and elegant finishing touches.

Twelve-foot ceilings on both floors, crisp white walls and generous use of teak create a chic interior, while seamless living spaces give it a cosiness that’s great for family’s keen to share each other’s company without sacrificing a busy lifestyle.

Visitors to the seven-month old house are greeted by a gleaming parquet floor and a seated area with sky-blue curtains reaching up to the ceiling – needless to say, a great entertaining spot.

Past a couple of pillars and down a few steps, one comes to the dining room, which itself leads to the kitchen where a door can be closed to keep smells and cooking activity from the rest of the house.

There is a secondary out-doors cooking area out the kitchen’s backdoor. A toilet intended for house staff is nearby.

Unfortunately, there is no real living room and the best place for kicking back in front of the telly is a narrow, tile-floor room that has a full wall of windows and a door leading to the front yard. It’s a great corridor for fetching quick snacks or drinks from the kitchen when having a barbeque or relaxing out front, but it is less enticing as a room to spend much time in.

There is one master bedroom downstairs, which has a second door leading to the above mentioned “living room”.

The 3680-square-foot compound offers no strong selling points though it has attractive paving and a neat lawn. There is a carport in front of the house but no garage.

Upstairs consists of the remaining three bedrooms and a couple of open areas; one that runs alongside the staircase and is an ideal spot to set up a computer or study desk, and another up a few steps where space for a shrine has been built into the wall. A door beside this leads to a small balcony with standing room only, overlooking the front yard.

Two of the upstairs bedrooms have en suites.

Five air conditioners, a phone line and an upmarket settee can be included in the sale upon negotiation.
