BEAUTIFUL brides decked out in equally amazing dresses were escorted down the aisle by handsome grooms sporting the latest in wedding tuxedos on September 2. But these glamorous couples weren’t getting married, and it wasn’t exactly an aisle they were walking down — it was a catwalk.

MYANMAR heartthrob Dway won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Fans poured into his art exhibition organised by his wife Ma Moe Moe at the Sedona Hotel on September 3 and 4, to catch an intimate glimpse of the film star’s personal life.

The scenery is great, the food’s not too bad and neither are the prices, but unless you like to eat to the sounds of a clanging keyboard and off-key singers at full volume, who have quite possibly stepped out of a time capsule from the 1980s, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Myanmar people have an exotic look. I especially like the Shan, Mon and Rahkine tribes. Even the men are very attractive, sometimes more so than the women. But there are problems — women face pressure to adhere to traditional standards of dress and when it comes to international standards, they do not have the confidence to fit in.
