THE Japan-based Daiichi Computer Resources (DCR) Company is recruiting
local IT professionals this month to staff a branch office it
plans to open in Yangon next year.
Mr Tomoyuki Iwanaga, the general manager of DCR’s overseas
development division, said the company is currently negotiating
with local officials over whether to open the office at Myanmar
Info-Tech or downtown Yangon.
The company offers a wide range of IT services, including system
integration; software development and sales; database sales, installation
and maintenance; machine sales; and network products marketing,
introduction and maintenance.
DCR held a launch ceremony at Parkroyal Hotel on September 16
at which it accepted applications and conducted tests for the
staff positions at the Yangon branch.
“We are offering special job admissions for 10 local IT
professionals who speak Japanese and hold IT degrees or have previous
IT experience,” said Mr Tomoyuki. “They will be selected
based on technical and intelligence tests.”
Meanwhile, “ordinary” job admissions and scholarships
will be offered to at least 60 locals. Successful applicants will
get Japanese-language training in Myanmar from October to December,
three months of IT training at DCR headquarters in Japan starting
in early 2008, and one year of on-the-job training at the DCR
branch office in Myanmar.
“Those selected for ordinary jobs and scholarship will
get a salary during their one year of training that will not be
less than the salaries paid by other local IT companies,”
said Mr Tomoyuki.
