MORE TRANSPORT OPTIONS FOR YANGON

Shwe Yinn Mar Oo

Buses for the Bandoola Transportation Company’s new Adipati line are lined up on September 7 for the official launch of the new routes. Adipati will run on two routes, distinguished by red and blue signboards on the buses.

There are 18 buses on the red line, which has been running since August and follows a 22-mile, 90-minute circuit that starts and ends at the Parami compound in South Okkalapa township.

Along the way it passes through Yankin, Tarmwe, Mingalar Taung Nyunt, Kyauktada, Latha, Lanmadaw, Dagon, Sanchaung, Kamayut and Mayangone townships.

The 15-bus blue line, currently a test route awaiting permission for official status from authorities, follows a 30-mile, two-hour circuit also starting and ending at the Parami compound and passing through Yankin, Tarmwe, Bahan, Kyauktada Kyeemyindine, Insein and Mayangone townships.

All Adipati buses run on a fixed fare of K200, are fully air-conditioned, do not allow standing passengers and do not delay at any bus stops.
