THE Mandalar May bus company launched a new express bus line
between Yangon and Pyin Oo Lwin on October 7 with hopes of taking
advantage of the emergence of Yadanarbon Cyber City in the Mandalay
Division town.
“I chose this route because I hope Pyin Oo Lwin will be
busier than ever with the establishment of the cyber city,”
said Daw Lei Lei Aye, the owner of the bus company.
She said the buses stop in Bago, Taungoo and Wundwin for meals,
and also stop in Mandalay before continuing to Pyin Oo Lwin.
“As a special service, if the bus breaks down we will
have meals prepared at the nearest restaurant and have them delivered
to the bus while the passengers are waiting,” she said.
“Also, if any family member of a passenger wants to contact
him in case of emergency, the branch terminals can make arrangements
because we will send passenger records to all the places we stop,”
Daw Lei Lei Aye said.
Each bus will have a crew of five, including two drivers, for
safety of passengers, she said.
The fares are K9800 for Mandalay and K10,900 for Pyin Oo Lwin,
with buses departing daily from Yangon at 4pm and arriving in
Pyin Oo Lwin around 9:30 am.
Mandalar May currently has a fleet of six buses, each with a
seating capacity of 50 passengers.
