The Thriyatanar shopping centre moved another step closer to completion on October 21 with the opening of a Sunday Mart store.

The retail zone in Bogatheikdi Ward has been under construction by the Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee (NCDC) since mid-2006 and should be fully finished in January 2008, an NCDC official said last week.

“The project is 80 percent complete and 138 shops have been built out of 200 that will be there,” he said. Sunday Mart, a youth-oriented clothing and accessories chain, is the second shop to open at Thiriyatanar, following the launch of the Ko Ko beauty salon. Pic: Thein Linn
