MYANMAR heavyweight kickboxing champion Lone Chaw will fight recently crowned middleweight champion Yan Gyi Aung in an outdoors match at Kandawgyi Park, Yangon on November 23.

Lone Chaw’s fight against the YCDC challenger is the first bout to be held at Kandawgyi Park since monsoon and tops off a fight-fest of five other matchups starting 6pm this Friday, said U Soe Than Win, CEO of organisers T&T Martial Arts Promotions Group.

“We will hold the tournament outdoors at Kandawgyi Park, which will be comfortable for fans and very interesting because there is a new challenger for Lone Chaw,” U Soe Than Win said. Yan Gyi Aung, 23, won the middleweight title at the Golden Belt Championship in September.

Lone Chaw, 31, said he was ready for action against the younger challenger. “I’m not worried about any of my opponents – what I’m most excited about is the result of the tournament,” he said.

The winner will be awarded K1 million while the loser pockets K800,000.
