“There are many Chinese companies investing in our country and there are many students learning Chinese, that’s how we got the idea to introduce this dictionary,”

“When fires break out in industrial zones, especially foreign direct investment (FDI) factories that tend to be extremely large, the cost of the damage is much higher than in other places,”

“Anybody who wants to set up billboards around the city will now have to offer sealed tenders to the department listing the highest price they are prepared to pay for a given location. We will then lease the space to the company or person who is willing to pay the most,”

“Export and import inspection checkpoints for the whole site are under construction and set to be completed at the end of December. The Directorate of Trade under the Minister of Commerce aims to complete the construction and run the whole zone at that time,”

“We have to try hard to increase our export volume as the Christmas and Chinese New Year season is approaching, a time when we are used to seeing our exports increase,”

Of these four, Colenco Power Engineering is already consulting on the Yeywa project in Mandalay Division; Sinohydro is involved in the construction of the US$1 billion Hutgyi project on the Thanlwin River; and Newjec Inc has worked on the Baluchaung 1, 2, 3 and Hutgyi projects since 1984.

“We’re doing this Myat Yadanar low-cost project not only for the sake of Thanlyin infrastructure development but also to let people get their own homes at a cheap price. It’s also convenient for the unemployed to get a job in the project’s develop-ment,”

HOUSE OF THE WEEK
Inside the house a living room is located to the right of the main entrance and features a decorative teak ceiling. Alongside the living room is a dining room and kitchen, which has wall cupboards, drawers, work benches and a basin.

Prime Minister General Thein Sein reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting democracy and national reconsolidation in Myanmar, during a series of meetings at last week’s annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

THE Association of Southeast Asian Nations has entered a “new era” of cooperation that will pave the way for greater accountability within the grouping, the outgoing ASEAN secretary general, Mr Ong Keng Yong, said last week.

“This year we celebrate students from 31 nations working, playing and learning together at ISY. It is our strength in diversity that makes us who we are,” Mr Dennis MacKinnon, the director of the school, told the assembled audience at the event.

“When we analyse accident rates we see a general reduction for all types of vehicles except private cars, so we are paying more attention to those vehicles,” said Traffic Police Lieutenant Colonel Aung Naing, the commander of Yangon Division Wireless and Traffic Police Force.

“Children need wide open spaces to move around in,” said the doctor. “They need to be given the opportunity to develop their muscles, as well as their creativity.”

“As a model and actress all you really need are looks, which I won’t have forever. There are no limitations in writing. If there comes a time when I will have to choose between the two, it will be writing, hands down.”
