THE Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) and the Japanese
embassy in Yangon held their second annual Japanese cultural show
at Panda Hotel in Lanmadaw township on November 17.
The show included lectures and demonstrations of traditional
Japanese summer dance, flower arranging and the martial arts of
karate-do, judo and aikido.
“We are happy to have the chance to attend the show and
learn about Japanese culture,” said Ma Yu Yu Aung, an audience
member who is taking Japanese language courses.
Another spectator, teacher Daw Khin Thi Myint, said the show
provided a good chance for Japanese-language students from different
schools to meet.
MAJA president Dr Aung Kyaw said the association plans to continue
organising the show every year as a means of cultural exchange
between Myanmar and Japan.
