Realist art competition

The Myanmar Traditional Artists and Artisans Organisation (central) is hosting a Beauty of Myanmar-4 realist art competition at its gallery at Bogyoke Aung San Market in January. Competitors may submit up to two works in oils by 5pm on January 1. There are no age restrictions. Rules for the competition are available from the organisation (telephone 240-966, ext 706). First prize is K500,000, with K300,000 for second and K200,000 for third and there are five consolation prizes of K100,000 each.

Septenarians exhibit works

The Glory of Emotion art exhibition at the Parkroyal Hotel from December 7 to 20 will feature the works of ten artists aged over 70, some of whom will also give daily painting demonstrations. The exhibition, open daily between 9am and 7pm, is being sponsored by the hotel and organised by Oasis art gallery.

Dance fest at Dusit Inya Lake

Join a dance carnival with some of the best DJs in Myanmar at the Dusit Inya Lake’s sunset terrace at 5pm on December 15. DJ Thaw Thaw, Jay, Naing Naing, Lin Lin and Thar Nge will be doing the spinning, with celebrity guest spots. Tickets at K4500 are available at NoBody and Uncle Sam shops and Conqueror at La Pyayt Wun Plaza.
