This spacious three bedroom two storey family house is set in the enclosed development of FMI City – a suburban dream with its swimming pool, children’s playground, nursery school and shopping centre – such that you would never believe you were living in industrial Hlaing Thayar township.

The house is on the wide concreted Kantharyar Road and, although the original suburb planner might disapprove, a shop could be built in the front of the compound in keeping with local traditional practice.

The property enjoys reasonable frontage of 40 feet and the compound is 60 feet deep. The house occupies an area of 1240 square feet and is freshly painted in a cream colour on the outside and white inside.

There are some shady trees and green plants at the front of the compound and the rest of the concrete space is large enough to park three cars.

The large red porch overhang provides shading for the entrance and also keeps off the rain during the monsoon.

The main entrance has glass doors secured with iron security gates. The front door opens into a hallway leading to the living room where the simple modernist furniture matches the clean lines of the room.

There is a small dining room next to the living room which leads to the kitchen and the backdoor.

All of the downstairs area has tongue and groove teak flooring except for the kitchen and the toilet, which are tiled. The toilet is located between the kitchen and dining room.

The staircase is also decorated with tiles and a large window in the stairwell allows more light into the house.

Upstairs there are two ordinary bedrooms (one used for a shrine) to one side of the landing area, which has teak parquet flooring, and there is also a master bedroom.

The master bedroom has an attached fully equipped bathroom, an air conditioner and access onto the front veranda which is decorated with floor tiles and iron security railings.

There is a tube well for water supply, an electricity meter and a phone line included in the sales price and the owner said some furniture will be included for good measure.
