Kaba Aye condos set for early 2008 opening

By Kyaw Hsu Mon
The Kaba Aye Condominium and Gamone Pwint Shopping Centre in Mayangone township.

THE Kaba Aye condominium and Gamone Pwint shopping centre, constructed by Gamone Pwint Construction, will open in February 2008, said U Nay Lin Oo, the managing director of Gamone Pwint Co Ltd.

The condominium, on the east side of Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, is a 14-storey building constructed on the site of a former municipal fruit and vegetable market. The building area is about 115,000 square feet and the sixth to 14th floors are for apartments. The first and second floors may be used for market stalls, said U Nay Lin Oo.

“The other floors will be for the Gamone Pwint Shopping Centre and the Plaza. Our own department store will occupy the fourth and fifth floors and we’ll rent out the shop units for the plaza on the third floor from the middle of this month” he said.

Some other outlets will also occupy the fourth and fifth floors. There will be a cafeteria, an internet café and a children’s playground.

The building has a total of 108 apartments which range in size from 1550 square feet to 1900 square feet.

The apartments comprise three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. Also each of the apartments have two balconies.

The apartments went on the market from mid- December although U Nay Lin Oo did not disclose prices.

There are 60 shop units to be rented in the plaza. “There is no presale and all rooms are decorated and ready for occupation. If customers want to rent fully furnished we can make the necessary arrangements as the customer likes” U Nay Lin Oo said.

There is ample car parking in the basement and in the compound for about 230 cars. The building has two elevators.

The building is opposite Kaba Aye Pagoda and the Myanama Gems Mart and construction began in early 2004.
