“I didn’t join the first course because I’m Christian and I thought Vipassana was only for Buddhists,” Ma Shee Myar told The Myanmar Times using sign language. “But many of my friends went and told me about their experience. Ever since then I’ve been looking forward to trying it.”

 

MYANMAR is poised to embark on a process to restore civilian rule under a democratically-elected government, following an announcement by the government on February 9 that parliamentary elections would be held in 2010.
