This year there will again be 166 booths, of which 154 will be inside and only 12 will be outdoors. They will showcase furniture, wood-based products, vehicle and machine spare parts used in the forestry industry, while there will also be booths for educational programs. However, the number of companies taking part has fallen back to 42.

 

“But now that the relevant authorities are pushing ahead with construction work, we believe that we’ll be ready for Armed Forces Day,” said U Han Tun, the federation’s vice chairman.

A FLURRY of big waves slammed into Myanmar’s coast at Kyaukphyu township in Rakhine State last month, sweeping away 40 fishing boats but causing no injuries, said a spokesperson from the Kyaukphyu branch of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
 
The seminar, jointly organised by the department and Japan International Cooperation Agency, was attended by experts from those two organisations and from the Myanmar Earthquake Committee and Myanmar Engineering Society.
