New City Mart to open in Lanmadaw township

By Aye Sapay Phyu

THE China Town Point Center in Lanmadaw township will open on March 21, said Daw Thet Wah Wing, marketing manager for City Mart Supermarkets, last week.

The 20,000-square-foot China Town Point Center, managed by City Mart Holding Co Ltd, sits on the corner of Phone Gyi and Mahabandoola roads.

“We chose this location because it’s the city’s business district and offers convenient transport for our customers,” she said.

Daw Thet Wah Win said that City Mart will take up two storeys in the building. It will be the 10th City Mart in Yangon.

However, there are another 40 retail spaces ranging from 100- to 400-square-feet in size; all have already been rented.

She said that escalators link the four levels of the commercial complex and the building is equipped with closed circuit television cameras and an emergency alarm system for safety.

She added that the location has significant potential for a supermarket.

Daw Thet Wah Win said that Naing Group Construction built the entire facility.
