EYE experts from North America representing ORBIS International, a non-profit global development organisation, perform eye surgery at Mandalay Eye and ENT Hospital earlier this month. The experts conducted their ninth Flying Eye Hospital program in Myanmar from February 25 to March 7, during which they performed about 70 eye and laser surgeries and provided training to about 50 local ophthalmologists. With the help of ORBIS, which has been working in the country since 1991, Myanmar established an eye bank in 1994 and is now a member of the international Federation of Eye and Tissue Banks.
