THE Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
will begin building a new headquarters in Ottarathiri town, Nay
Pyi Taw, in early April, said a federation spokesperson on March
10.
“Because Nay Pyi Taw will soon be a centre of administration,
this centre is aimed at facilitating communication with all the
ministries that we deal with,” he said.
The building will cover 40,000 square feet and will sit inside
a 6-acre block in the family-friendly – thanks to the new
zoo – administrative capital.
“The reinforced concrete, two-storey building will be
finished within one year and our office will open as soon as it’s
done,” the spokesperson said, adding that approval to build
the complex was granted in early March.
The spokesperson said Dynamic Engineering Group has been tasked
with the construction and design of the project, which will also
house the Myanmar Rice and Paddy Traders’ Association, the
Myanmar Beans and Pulses Association and the Myanmar Timber Traders
Association.
“We have planned for 12 associations to be housed in this
complex and more associations will be added to our list if it’s
necessary in the future,” the spokesperson added.
However, he admitted that the cost of the building remains unknown
because the plans have not been drawn up.
