Word On The Street
with Rota

Nilar

Hello Rota, how are things with you?
Hey. Everything is going great. I think I have even got some fruit from the plants I have grown. With work, I am now acting in Lets Fly Together, directed by Ko Zaw. It’s a mixture of love and comedy. My co-actors are Nawarat, Hein Wai Yan, Zay Zay. The next one is Angel’s Curse with Myo Thanda Htun, Moe Hay Ko and May Thet Khine. I have been acting in a VCD for singer D-Lun and then last week I worked on a new commercial for San Go Go soft drinks. It’ll be broadcast for Thingyan festival.

How much does your hair style influence your choice of clothing?
I woud say about half. I have changed my clothes to suit my hair style many times. Although you wear good clothes, if you don’t have a good looking hair style, it doesn’t work. While some may disagree, I think Korean hair styles looks sissy. After taking photos and acting in movies, I always check how my hair style is. My hair dresser is Ko Min Min from Soe San San Beauty Saloon.

Do you create your own style?
I don’t do all that much shopping actually. I always buy clothes on my way to where I am going. I prefer ready-made stuff and usually white. I don’t like short sleeve shirts because they are simple. My friends said that my clothes were not very valuable but that I have my own style.

What do you do to keep fit?
I exercise at the Grand Mee Ya Hta Hotel. I get advice from my trainer on keeping fit and in shape. I don’t swim because it makes my face lean and sunken.

How is your daily life style?
I am living alone in Yangon, my parents are in Rakhine State. I have to make meals, wash clothes and everything myself. I don’t eat pork and beef. I don’t like fish. I prefer vegetables, radish salad, marian salad, and papaya salad is my favorites. I like the hot and sour taste alot.

Where will you be during Thingyan ?
Lolane pavilion have asked me to come down and I will also be at the Rakhine pavilion. I miss Rakhine State a lot, especially in Thingyan Festival. It’s been so long that I can’t go back my native home. I am afraid of missing work if I go back. I came here to do work and to provide my parents with money.
