An agreement was also signed on the construction of a new trading route between the two countries across the Kaladan River, which connect Myanmar with India’s northeastern Mizoram State.

TRADE through Myanmar territory is set to increase with the opening of three transit routes to speed the movement of goods from China, India and other countries, according to government sources. The opening took effect last month, in the first week of April.
