Myanmar to participate in 5th China-ASEAN Expo

Ye Lwin

BUSINESSPEOPLE from Myanmar have been invited to attend the 5th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), which will be convened in Nanning, China, from October 22 to 25.

Mr Qin Yizhuang, senior official from CAEXPO Committee, said the expo will feature 3300 international standard booths at four exhibition pavilions: Commodity Trade, Investment Cooperation, Agricultural Applicable Technology and Cities of Charm.

The CAEXPO held in previous year has attracted 122,000 exhibitors and trade visitors as well as 7413 exhibiting enterprises, gaining a total trading volume of US$4.92 billion and contracting international investment cooperation projects worth US$22.26 billion.

“It now has become the most well-recognized and influential exposition within the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA),” Mr Qui said in his statement.

At the previous 4th CAEXPO, Myanmar had multi-field exchanges and cooperation with China and other ASEAN countries, gaining richer economic and trading outcomes year on year, he said.

Last year Myanmar set up 116 booths at the Commodity Trade pavilion.
