EVERY house has its own taste and this two-bedroom bungalow in
Yankin township is built with fairytale characters seemingly in
mind; perhaps Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
At least, that’s where the colour appear to herald from
– they really are that bright but sadly, the owners appear
to have run out before finishing the job.
Indeed, there are patches where the paint has run badly.
The 2750-square-foot compound is just road off Yadana Street,
which links Yankin and South Okkalapa townships.
While the house is cartoon in colour, the large brick fence,
razor wire and iron gate ensure reality is never far away.
And even though space in the compound is limited, the owner
has managed to include a grassed area and garden, that don’t
quite measure up to the forest the dwarfs normally live in. Nevertheless,
it looks attractive and lush, particularly the plants that line
the fence.
There’s even a small waterfall against the green-painted
wall at the front of the property, which comes with a 60-year
lease.
A separate car garage sits at the left side of the house and
is linked to the gate by a short driveway.
Inside the house, the living room is painted peach and has a
red concrete floor. It’s an unusual combination that doesn’t
work – the wall colours are warm and inviting but the floor
does the opposite. However, any buyer could quickly fix this situation
with some variety of floor covering.
A functional kitchen is next to the living room, with a bathroom
and toilet alongside.
There are also two bedrooms, which are more or less equal in
size. The one at the back of the house, however, has an ensuite
bathroom.
The house is two years old, covers 1050 square feet and has
one power meter and a lighting meter too. Water is supplied by
tube well and government water main. There are also two tanks,
each with a 125-gallon capacity.
