Film show at Japanese embassy

The Embassy of Japan will present Japanese flick Eki (Station), directed by Yasuo Furuhata, at the embassy’s Assembly Hall on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27, at 2:30pm.
Tickets for the shows will be available from June 16 at the Japanese embassy from 8:30am-12:30pm and 1:30-5:30pm.
Each ticket admits one person only and tickets are limited, so get in early to avoid missing out.

Art exhibition at Bogyoke market

The Artists and Artisans Organisation is putting on an exhibition of paintings by artist U Tun Kyaw and his contemporaries, to be held in the East Wing of Bogyoke Aung San market (187-192 Bogyoke Aung San Road).
The show will feature acrylic, oil and watercolour works depicting Myanmar landscapes and scenes and will run from June 6 to 14.

MMPO plans six-film fundraiser

Myanmar Motion Picture Organization is planning to produce six films, which will be used to raise funds for the victims of Cyclone Nargis.
Almost 40 movie stars will be involved, as well as famous directors, cameramen and photographers.
The film will be shot on location in Pyin Oo Lwin in mid-June and produced in Yangon.
