WITH five bedrooms split over two storeys, this South Okkalapa house features a warm and attractively designed interior. And it’s just as well because the three-year-old house’s façade does not stand out from surrounding houses either but it’s clean and hides a house that’s just perfect for a family.

Just off Waizayandar Road, the 3600-square-foot compound is a corner plot with easy access to the Kanbe train station. And for train spotters there are even views over the train track.

The sliding iron gate reveals a two-car garage and the aforementioned concrete compound, which would be fine for potted plants.

The front entrance consists of an iron sliding grate and teak door, which in turn opens into a large lounge room that features excellent natural ventilation and lighting.

At the front right corner of the house is a room best suited for use as a study, small office or single bedroom. Nearby there is also a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

The dining room is cosy and has a cute serving window through to the kitchen, which has a tiled floor and workspace and offers plenty of wall cupboard storage. There’s also a bathroom and small store room downstairs.

Teak is used for nearly all flooring downstairs and the trend continues with the staircase.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom that enjoys its own balcony and bathroom, while the two single rooms must share a separate bathroom.

An extensive family room upstairs is perfect for game-playing and television watching and offers a door out onto the front balcony.

Water is supplied by both tube well and mains water, and there are two electricity meters already serving the house.
