FOLLOWING
singer Phyu’s VCD release, people are curios about the new
face of Phway Phway, who featured in one of the songs. Timeout
had a chat with this young new talent and took a few cute photos
for her fans.
Timeout: Your name is really cute, Phway Phaway.
Phway Phway: It’s my stage name only, not
my real one.
Tell me, how did you come to perform in singer Phyu’s
VCD?
One of the directors from the album, Ko Wai Yan, asked me to be
in one of the songs having seen me in the Coffee Cola advert.
You can play guitar, too. Are you also interested in
music?
Yes, I love it. Since I was young, I wanted to be a singer. I
have a band with friends but we’re just hobbyists. After
I started having my photo taken for calendars, posters and adverts,
I realised that acting is interesting. I also get a lot of support
from my parents, who want me to act.
What are the challenges for a new face model like you?
Communication with others. I’m always afraid I’ll
make mistakes in communication. So, I always try to be careful
whatever I say or do.
What’s your biggest goal?
I want to be a great model and actor. I’d also like to be
a singer but that may be later.
I heard that you haven’t finished your education?
What difficulties do you face when you try to balance your education
with your career?
Yes, I’m a final student of Korean at the University of
Foreign Languages. Of course, I have some tight situations. I
sometimes miss class and have to cancel appointments because of
exams. But this will no longer be a problem once I get my degree.
People love your Asian style. Where does your look come
from?
I really love punk fashion, which quite suits me. I watch Korean
soap operas a lot and borrow a little from their style.
I think young people are increasingly interested in music
and performing arts. What do you think?
It might be the international influence. Even in Korea, there
are many teenage artists, besides, young people make the craziest
artists.
What are you doing now?
I’ve been acting in some VCDs and have had photo shoots
with Myanmar People and Perfect magazines.
What do you want to tell your fans?
I’ll be trying as hard as I can in my acting and will be
doing more work after my final exams.
