DON’T be put off by the brick fence and razor wire: For K99 million, this four bedroom double-storey house is an attractive proposition.

The 2280-square-foot property in South Okkalapa Township – just off Waizayandar Road – also features a large family space, living room, dining room and servant’s quarters.

The tidy concrete compound is livened up by some welcome greenery in the shape of several small trees.
There is space in the compound for two cars, while the decent-sized garage can accommodate another vehicle or be used as a handy storage area.
The garage opens into a substantial family area with tiled floor.

All the living areas are downstairs; the living room with parquet floor, which is accessible through the front door, as well as the dining room, which is ideal for entertaining. There is also one bathroom downstairs.

The kitchen is one of the features of the house with wet and dry areas to ensure good food hygiene. It’s big enough – about 25 feet long – to allow you to cook up a storm when guests drop by.

The servant’s quarters are located off the kitchen and include access to the backyard, which features and undercover area where clothes can be laundered and dried during the rainy season.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms with the wooden floors commonly found in many Myanmar homes.

The two smaller bedrooms overlook the front yard, while the master bedroom and another large bedroom – both with ensuite – are at the back of the house.
A 25-foot balcony runs down one side of the house, connecting the master bedroom with one of the smaller rooms.

The house is made more comfortable by four air conditioners and has one electricity meter and is connected to government water supply.

The house comes unfurnished but at this you won't be complaining too much.
