CAR rental services in Nay Pyi Taw have to get official permission to operate, say government traffic chiefs. The Nay Pyi Taw Traffic Rules Reinforcement and Supervising Committee decided earlier this month that its subcommittee would put black taxi services under supervision.
“Black taxi services running with a signboard in public are not allowed anymore. They must apply for a licence from the committee,” said an official.
There are 45 black taxis in four car rental services in Pyinmana township, and 13 vehicles in Lewe and Tetkone townships operating at present in the Nay Pyi Taw area, said the committee.
The committee will also launch driver training to help reduce road accidents.
