MYANMAR Computer Professionals Association (MCPA) conducted a seminar to mark World Blogger Day, which falls on August 31, at Myanmar Info-Tech in Yangon’s Hlaing Township.

The seminar was held with the theme of “Socialisation on the net”. U Khun Oo, the president of MCPA and well-known writer Kyaw Win gave educative talks.
The seminar was mainly focused on social networking websites – such as Friendster and online ethics, the different nature of media and social networking, and how to create knowledge and art on these websites.

“The aim of the event was to let people know how to use online content and learn more about economic oppor-tunities on blogs and social networking sites,” said Ko Zaw Zaw Myo Lwin, a part-icipating blogger at the event.

He added that knowledge-sharing and question-and-answer sessions were also included in the event.

The World Blogger Day event, which attracted more than 300 people, was first held in August 2006. The second event, in September 2007 drew about 600 participants.
