TEN young artists are displaying their work at the ‘Art Field’ exhibition at Lokanat Gallery, Pansodan street, Yangon, from September 24 to 30. The exhibition intends to showcase the artists’ enthusiasm and to draw the viewer with their freshness.
Sitt Aung Moe’s watercolours of Maymyo township complement Mg Han Aye’s depiction of the nature of urban life in Yangon. Aye Han shows how people sometimes have to wait by the side of the road that will lead them to their destination, as in his “Wait”.
“Market night” lets the viewer experience the dim street lights above the marketplace, as Nay Hlaing Win seeks to change a painting style by applying impressionist technique to realism.
Brang Li’s six paintings celebrate the traditions of his Kachin race whereas Saw Kyaw Zaw paints women of the past, with brown skin and colourless pale lips wearing beautiful vivid dresses. His painting “Ugly or not” aims to provoke feedback from an intrigued audience. The other artists also express their articulations according to their own style.
