THIS two-storey, six bedroom house in Hlaing township could be seen as an ideal family house for a well-to-do family, except that it does not have any area for recreation outside.

On the plus side it is close to downtown, commodity trading centres and yet sits in a quiet and peaceful residential suburb.

On the downside, K350 million is not cheap, the yard lacks visual impact and the façade, which features not one, but two porticos, is best described as “over the top”.

Naturally there’s a sliding iron gate, a tall fence and concrete compound.
A carport under one of the portico’s has space for two cars and a door at the rear opens into an ensuite double bedroom. The main entrance, flanked by two-storey pillars leads into the spacious but cold living area.

The living room has wood parquet flooring, wooden furniture and good lighting and ventilation.

To the back of the house is a bedroom that’s suited to eit-her a guest or a housekeeper.

There’s also a large dining room and kitchen, with plenty of working space. The rooms are both in need of a fresh coat of paint, with the existing blue tinged by grime.

Rounding off the bottom level is a bathroom and shower near the staircase.
Upstairs there’s a large space at the top of the stairs that could serve as either a shrine room or family room.

There are also four bedrooms upstairs, including an ensuite master bedroom with access to its own front balcony. Of the other bed-rooms, two are ensuite and the other one has a common bathroom and shower.

The house is six years old and some of the paint and floor polish is showing that the house has been lived in and probably needs a refresh.

One telephone line and three air-conditioners are included in the house’s sale price.
