Vane for Mumbai pagoda dedicated

A VANE with diamond buds for the Global Vipassana Pagoda in Mumbai, India, is going to be dedicated at Shwedagon Pagoda from September 25 to December 31.

Former students of the Dhamma Joti Vipassana Meditation Centre and its sub-centres are welcome to contribute their labour in collecting funds or keeping guard at the pagoda, where the vane and diamond buds has been placed.

U Thein Aung, a Dhamma teacher at the centre, said any former student who wishes to donate labour can register at the Dhamma Joti Meditation Centre on Wingaba Street, Bahan township, Yangon.

The 13th donation ceremony at the Dhamma Joti Meditation Centre for the pagoda took place on September 21. Local well-wishers donated about K34.2 million in cash, as well as jewels valued at K49.6 million, to the Global Pagoda.

An additional US$2816, FEC382 and RMB100 were also donated for the construction of the pagoda.
